Profile: Growing up in the midst of a flourishing EDM scene in Bangkok, Dj Sparsh snuck into his first rave at age 13, as much as he was fascinated by the sounds that he was exposed to that night, he was equally intrigued by the 2 men in the Dj booth who had over 500 people sweating to their beats. Sparsh knew by the end of that night, he wanted to be in their shoes. Music always played a big role in his life. Sparsh grew up in an environment of diverse musical taste. 80s rock, disco, classical western and indian music all played a big role. "80s rock was the most influential. I remember being dropped to school by my parents, they had their morning coffee to get them going and I had Def Leppard and Van Halen" he recounts. At age 14, a family friend (and an aspiring Dj) gave him a short tutorial and 2 hours on his brand new mixer, CDJs and a little known Dj software called "Traktor Dj Studio". 2 years later Dj Sparsh entered the Denon Dj Championships (Thailand) as their youngest contestant ever, finishing 8th overall. "After that it was mostly just small local events till I went to England for uni. I think thats when things really blew up. Everything from massive student nights at Gatecrashers to Bollywood Nights at smaller clubs, to weddings and corporate events. It was fantastic. I felt like I was back at that rave, except this time I was the Dj." The Past, Present and Future show is the latest chapter in this story. The show incorporates music not only from western EDM artists but also from eastern producers giving the show a very unique sound. It bring together long forgotten hits from EDM world, the best of today and new sounds and styles that are slowly starting to find their way into the EDM world.
